Effects of probiotics intake on oral environment changes of the elderly in long-term care facilities

[Conclusions]

Self-perceived halitosis, organoleptic level of halitosis, and tong-coating index were reduced more significantly in an experimental group comprised of the elderly who took W. cibaria CMU than in a control group. This result shows that the intake of probiotic W. cibaria CMU improves the oral environment of the elderly.
